Bout Rules
- Skaters not on the track by the start of the jam will not be allowed to join in that jam.
- Both Jammers begin scoring points on their second lap.
- 1 point, per lap will be given for each opposing skater the Jammer passes provided she is in bounds.
- 1 point will be given when one Jammer laps the other.
- 1 point will also be given per lap, for each absent and penalized skater after the Jammer passes the first opposing skater, starting on the second lap.
- A skater is considered to be passed once the Jammer’s entire body is in front of that skater.
BLOCKING
- Holding hands is ONLY allowed as an offensive maneuver when giving a whip.
- Blockers may cross arms so long as they are NOT interlinked or touching.
- Back blocking or ramming another skater from behind is NOT permitted.
- Skaters are allowed to touch, push, pull, and grab their own teammates with any part of their body.
- Skaters may NOT prevent an out of bounds skater from re-entering the track.
- Out of bounds skaters must be fully in bounds and moving in a forward direction before blocking an opposing skater.
- Penalty time will be carried over from jam to jam and period to period, the offending team skating short accordingly.
- If a Jammer commits a false start, the jam will be reset with the same line up, but the offending Jammer will be required to start 10 feet behind the Jammer start line.
PENALTIES
MINOR PENALTIES
- Use of hands
- Cutting the track
- Back Blocking or Ramming
- Advancing
- Preventing out of bounds skaters from re-entering the track.
- Blockers or Pivots skating 20ft either in front of or behind the pack
- False start
- Split pack
- Blocking while out of play
MAJOR PENALTIES– Immediate 1 minute penalty box time
- Accumulation of 4 minor penalties - 4th minor = 1 major
- Elbowing
- Tripping
- Intentional falling
- Takedowns
- Skating clockwise on the track
- Approaching, confronting, or ignoring Referees
- Blocking above the shoulders
- Linking arms or holding hands to block
- Entering the track after jam has started
- Any interference that affects the overall flow of the bout or game
